Join Shelley Lowry Speech and Drama students as they celebrate the lives of some of the most fearless, spirited and determined women to have ever lived among us.
Today, many women take having the vote for granted, but at the turn of the 20th Century, women from both the nationalist and unionist communities were so frustrated that they joined together to fight for women’s right to have a say in how our country was run. They felt they had no option but to speak the only language men at the time understood - ‘the language of war.’ They were committed, relentless and they put their cause above all else. These women faced objectors on every side, yet their passion and energy never waned.
‘Above All Else’ is a musical play; featuring both modern songs and songs from the era in which the story takes place. The cast have researched, devised and tirelessly rehearsed to bring you an incredibly moving piece that will resonate with you long after you have left the theatre.
