Above All Else

Today, many women take having the vote for granted. However, at the turn of the 20th Century, women from both the nationalist and unionist communities were so frustrated that they joined together to fight for the right to have a say in how our country was run. They felt that had no option but to speak the only language men at the time understood -'The language of war'.

They were committed, relentless and they put their cause above all else. These women faced objectors on every side, yet their passion and energy never wained.

Above All Else is a musical play, presented by The Shelley Lowry School; blending modern music by artist such as Radiohead, Muse and Hozier with songs from the era in which our story takes place. The cast hope to bring you an incredibly moving piece that will resonate with you long after you have left the theatre.
