In this discussion, Juliet will talk about her work as a whole and the political and creative forces that shaped it.
She will discuss her work as a trans woman, artist, and writer and will show that trans artists don’t have to be solely defined by their identities. She will discuss how trans people are entitled to live their lives, love their loves and create their art just like anyone else.
Juliet Jacques is an author, filmmaker and journalist and is best known for her writings, ‘Trans: A Memoir’ and ‘A Transgender Journey’. Juliet has also written short fiction and queer fiction and teaches on Contemporary Art Practice at the Royal College of Art. Her films include, ‘Approach/Withdraw’ and ‘You Will Be Free’.
