Artist Development

Hatch & Scratch

Hatch & Scratch provides local artists working in live performance, at any point in their career, with the opportunity to scratch, explore, and experiment with the most embryonic of ideas in a supported environment.

Curatorial Directions

Due to the pandemic, we have paused our Curatorial Directions programme.

Through lectures, discussions, workshops and excursions, emerging curators from the UK, Ireland and Europe, selected from an open call, get to meet each other, share knowledge & experience, and learn from other invited curators, artists, and experts. They explore some of the key issues and ideas regarding contemporary curatorial practice in Northern Ireland and further afield.

Artist in Residence

Our current Artist in Residence is pianist Ruth McGinley.

Our Artist in Residence programme brings international, national, and local artists across a range of art forms and experiences to the MAC. This supported programme allows for non-outcome-based practice development.

From playwrighting to composition, MAC Commissions aim to support the creation of new work from artists across a range of art forms and experiences.

(re) Development

The (re) Development programme supports new and existing work to be researched, developed or re-imagined in-house with support from the artistic team.

MAC Supported

From international to local, the MAC keenly supports the presentation of work by artists and companies in our own spaces, online and beyond through co-production, co-creation and in-kind support.
