Let your child enjoy a warm and festive Chinese New Year celebration filled with creativity and imagination!
In this workshop kids will create their own origami horse, add a friendly face, and bring it home as a symbol of good luck for the New Year.
They’ll also help bring a giant Dragon to life by decorating a shiny scale with colourful designs and personal wishes. Every child’s artwork becomes part of a special Dragon display for all to see.
This cheerful activity offers children a fun way to celebrate, create, and learn about New Year traditions.

让孩子们尽情享受一个充满创意和想象力的温暖中国新年庆祝活动吧！
在这个工作坊中，孩子们将会亲手制作一只属于自己的折纸小马，可以为它添加友好可爱的表情，并将制作的作品带回家以象征新年好运。
孩子们也会参与到一条巨龙的制作，用闪亮的鳞片和绚丽的设计来进行装饰，并写下自己新年的心愿。每个孩子的艺术成果都会成为这条“特别龙”的一部分进行展示。

Meet the Artist
About the Artist
Masako Carey
Masako, originally from Japan, has lived in Northern Ireland since 2001. She works as a storyteller, crafter, and cultural trainer with schools, libraries, and community groups across Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland. She runs sessions and workshops on storytelling, crafts, cultural training, reconciliation, diversity, and hate crime. Masako also shares her stories online with audiences in the UK, Ireland, and around the world.
Masako uses her experience as a kindergarten teacher to offer craft projects inspired by Japanese culture, such as origami and calligraphy. She adapts each activity to fit the age, ability, and interests of her participants.
