Elaine Feeney and Ali Watkins join Alex Clark to discuss two powerful new books exploring Irish identity, legacy and the enduring shadow of the Troubles.
Elaine Feeney, the bestselling author of the Booker-longlisted How to Build a Boat, returns with Let Me Go Mad In My Own Way – a darkly lyrical, multigenerational novel set on Ireland’s west coast, where family secrets and inherited trauma slowly surface.
New York Times reporter and Pulitzer finalist Ali Watkins’ true crime saga The Next One Is For You is the long-buried story of how a ragtag band of Philadelphia gunrunners armed the IRA at the height of the Troubles. A gripping tale of crime, rebellion and the hazy line between them, The Next One Is For You is the definitive account of America’s hand in the Troubles.
Concession tickets are available for individuals aged 16 and under, over 60's, students, and those who are unemployed.
Programmed as part of Belfast International Arts Festival 2025.
