To celebrate their exhibition SCAPEGOATING PICTURES for Belfast, the MAC invites you to join the world-famous artist Gilbert & George in conversation with Tim Marlow, Artistic Director of the Royal Academy over afternoon tea at the Merchant Hotel.
One of the world’s most recognisable and provocative artistic duos, Gilbert & George’s SCAPEGOATING PICTURES for Belfast is their most significant exhibition in Ireland in almost 20 years.
This year marks the 50th anniversary of Gilbert & George’s first meeting at St. Martin’s School of Art in 1967 and their identifying as ‘Living Sculptures’, two people but one artist.
This unique in conversation is programmed as part of the 250th-anniversary celebrations marking the establishment of the Royal Academy of Arts, London.
Afterwards, you will be taken back to the MAC to their exhibition which will be on show throughout all three galleries. Signed catalogues and posters celebrating their exhibition will also be available to purchase from the MAC Box Office.
An event not to be missed, tickets are certain to sell out quickly, so book early to avoid disappointment.
