Details
Following its previous successes with The Producers, Les Miserables and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Belfast's leading performing arts school, Belfast School of Performing Arts (BSPA), returns to the MAC with its Senior summer project for 2025 - Pippin.
Written by the composer of "Wicked" Stephen Swhartz, "Pippin" tells the story of a young prince trying to be extraordinary in an ordinary world. This updated circus inspired version of Pippin will be a truly ensemble piece directed by BSPA'S Artistic Director Peter Corry MBE, who will no doubt put his own unique spin on this fantastical fable.
Pippin seeks fulfilment in the glories of the battlefield and the intrigues of political power. He encounters guidance and manipulation along the way from a group of travelling players. However maybe in the end he may find that happiness lies not in extraordinary endeavours, but rather in the unextraordinary moments that happen in our everyday lives.
With a stunning score by Swhartz and Bob Fosse inspired choreography this is a fantastic opportunity to see one of the true hidden gems of musical theatre.
