Man is born. He wishes to show his authentic self. He does this. He is told "No”. He tries again. “No. Don’t do that.” He is unsure what to do. He witnesses ‘The Lads’. He becomes one. It doesn’t feel right. He is lost. Great! He needs connection. He fears connection, as he’ll have to show his authentic self. And he’s lost that. A mess!
ShedMan tells the tale of John Courtesy. John was born on the island of Ireland, which is a great start in life as it is such a friendly place. But then why is John so lonely? Why is John, a friendly sort who is no trouble to no one, contemplating moving up a mountain so he can escape all that world famous friendliness?
ShedMan is a comprehensive, cautionary and comedic tale that is guaranteed (there are no guarantees in life) to have you laughing away goodo and maybe SHEDing a few tears.
Written and performed by Keith Singleton, the same fella who penned the comedies ‘Something Different’ and ‘Looking Deadly’ (co-written with Niamh McGrath) and Directed by award winning Director Patrick J. O’Reilly and funded by The Arts Council NI and the MAC.
