Rachel Grimes is widely recognised as the composer and pianist in the ground-breaking chamber ensemble Rachel’s. She has toured as a solo pianist and collaborator and has contributed music for film, theatre and museum installations.
Julia Kent has played with cello group Rasputina and Antony and the Johnsons. She has released three solo albums of looped cello and electronics and has composed for film, theatre and dance.
Both artists were invited to mark the closing of Peter Liversidge’s doppelgänger, by composing this new work in response to his exhibition at the MAC.
A video backdrop, made especially for the event by Peter himself, will envelope the entire stage and will provide a point of reference and scale in relation to the music as it unfolds and is experienced.
