The Good Friday Agreement marked the beginning, not the end, of a process of reconciliation. It took the extraordinary vision, determination, and willpower of a generation of peacemakers to bring the people of Northern Ireland and their representatives to an agreement. It will take the next generation of peacemakers to usher in the next chapter of peace-building on this island. I was 11 when the Good Friday Agreement was signed, I had no way of knowing then just how the agreement would shape and impact my life. I turn to these pages as the pathway to a rights-based future. As I consider the future of this region and my vision for Northern Ireland it is to these pages that I draw inspiration. This written word project will serve as testament to the power that we as individuals hold in shaping and transforming the society we live in and will outline my hope, and vision, for the future of Northern Ireland. - Emma DeSouza
