Dawn Purvis’ essay for NINOW100 reflects on her childhood growing up in NI from 1966 during one of the most turbulent times in our country’s history. It explores her involvement in politics, including her return to education in 1996. It also discusses how social justice and peace-building are interconnected and how, when it comes to NI, you cannot do one without the other. Finally, it sets out Dawn’s hopes and dreams for NI in 2121, one hundred years from now.
