Volunteers’ Week at the MAC: A Celebration of Our Incredible Volunteers

This Volunteers’ Week, we want to say a big thank you to all of our fantastic volunteers. Your time, energy, and welcoming smiles help make the MAC a vibrant and inclusive space for everyone.
Whether you’re greeting visitors, sharing your knowledge about exhibitions, or helping behind the scenes, your contribution makes a real difference.
For many, volunteering at the MAC has also been a great way to develop skills, build confidence, and even move into paid roles in the arts and cultural sector.
We’re also grateful to our brilliant partner organisations; NOW Group, MENCAP, Orchardville Society, Action Mental Health, Queens University Students Union and Ulster University, who help us support and grow our volunteer programme.
To celebrate, we’ve put together a short video where some of our volunteers share what volunteering means to them, what they’ve learned, and their favourite moments at the MAC.
As Linda McBurney our Volunteers' Co-ordinator, puts it:
“Our volunteers help make the MAC a space where people feel welcome and inspired. We’re lucky to have such a great team.”
