As part of Brilliant Corners – a festival of Jazz in Belfast.
Celebrate Alice Coltrane’s legacy with an unforgettable night of music led by harpist Alina Bzhezhinska’s HipHarpCollective featuring Tony Kofi.
Lose yourself in a transcendental revisit to Coltrane’s spiritual recordings including ‘Journey in Satchidananda’ and ‘Eternity’, alongside works from Dorothy Ashby’s innovative album ‘Afro-Harping’, and Bzhezhinska’s original compositions. Creating a unique sound on the harp, with layered effects and electronics, Bzhezhinska will be joined by music supremoes Menelik Clafey on double bass, Matt Holmes on drums, and Tony Kofi on saxophone.
The project’s first outing was at the 2017 EFG London Jazz Festival with Pharoah Sanders, which was nominated for a Jazz FM Award. Since then, the band has toured worldwide, and we are delighted to present this remarkable outfit to NI for the very first time. We can’t think of a better way to wrap up Brilliant Corners 2025.
