Join us for the penultimate SAM'S EDEN workshop in partnership with The Rainbow Project (TRP), one of the MAC's Associate Partners. You can find out what it means to be an Associate Partner here.
As part of our partnership, we're hosting a series of workshops with TRP covering all kinds of art and culture for a project called SAM'S EDEN led by artist Thomas Wells.
Find out more about SAM'S EDEN and Thomas here and here.
In this participatory workshop, architectural researcher DW Dean Black will explore the interior architecture of the MAC building.
Dean will look at how we can change the interior spaces to suit our needs by exploring and reconfiguring how we use them. We will look at ‘queering’ the communal spaces in the MAC by inhabiting it, recording it and then rebuilding it as a group. This workshop is about reclaiming the space through exploring how the queer body can disrupt and reconstitute architectural elements to express experience and identity.
We will be working as a group and be led by Dean through his expertise working in the field of architecture in Belfast.
SAM'S EDEN is a project designed by artist Thomas Wells. The MAC commissioned Thomas as part of our MACtivate project which focuses on social justice by working with five associate partners. We are delivering SAM'S EDEN in partnership with one of our associate partners, The Rainbow Project.
