To celebrate LGBTQIA Awareness Week (16 – 22 May), we are delighted to be offering Same-Sex Families Storytelling for Kids.
The MAC has teamed up with Still I Rise Diversity Storytelling to create a fun, creative and safe space in our family room for families to come together and hear stories that explore diversity and all kinds of families including same-sex and single-parent families.
We will be reading some fab books including:
Families, Families, Families by Suzanne Lang
A Tale of Two Daddies by Vanita Oelschlager
Aalfred & Aalbert by Morag Hood
Julian is a Mermaid by Jessica Love
During the workshop we will chat about the meaning of the Pride rainbow, and we’ll create some art to celebrate diversity.
The session will be facilitated by Shannon Yee who is a biracial queer immigrant playwright with a disability.
Shannon is a playwright, a producer, a collaborator, a creator and a theatre maker who brings her extensive experience and passion for educating, mentoring, writing and teaching to all she does.
Find out more about Shannon here.
Suitable for ages 4-8.
