This is the MAC’s unique project, designed to bring the gift of theatre to all children, including those with additional needs. MACtile Tours was created as part of our commitment to enrich the lives of families and children with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD).
Launched in October 2015, MACtile Tours involves specially-trained MAC staff travelling to participating schools across Northern Ireland with our ‘MAC in the Box’.
The tactile box has been designed to take the fear out of a first-time visit to the theatre. It contains visual aids to help children know what to expect when they visit the MAC for the first time. The school visit is then followed up with a real trip to the MAC, for many children it is their first time ever to come to a theatre.
