MACtivists (MAC volunteers) are at the heart of
the MAC. We welcome volunteers from all walks of life, whatever their
reason may be. Some want to learn new skills, whilst others have a
passion for art and live theatre.
At the MAC, we strive to be world-class in everything we do, and as we move into an exciting autumn 2024 season of live shows, art and family activities, we warmly invite you to join our team as a volunteer.
We welcome people of all ages to help us showcase everything the MAC has to offer and provide an exceptional experience for our visitors. If you're positive, enthusiastic, and passionate, we’d love your help in creating a warm, friendly, and welcoming environment at the MAC. You will have the opportunity to try something different, develop your skills and contribute to establishing the MAC as a leading-edge venue for Belfast.
While we take what we do seriously, we’re equally serious about having fun! We believe that everyone at the MAC—visitors, staff, and volunteers alike—should enjoy themselves. As a volunteer, you'll get the chance to see amazing shows, explore great art, make new friends, and hopefully, leave with a smile every time.
We especially encourage applications from Black, Asian, and Minority Ethnic (BAME), disabled, and LGBTQI+ individuals, as these groups are currently under-represented in the sector.
We can’t wait to hear from you!
We’re currently on the lookout for Gallery invigilators and Front of House Volunteers.
The MAC volunteer shifts include daytimes, evenings and weekends, and will be flexible to fit your lifestyle and availability.
If you are interested in applying, please complete the volunteer online application form https://forms.office.com/e/z9KvsHDSs0
We shortlist applications on the last Tuesday of every month. Shortlisted applicants will be invited to a short informal 20-minute interview where we give you the opportunity to tell us a bit about yourself and we will share more information about volunteering at the MAC (training, benefits etc).
Please note that all communication will be via email however, if however, you require an alternative method of communication please contact our Box Office staff, on 028 90235056 and they will put you in touch with our HR Manager.
