Mountview Musical Theatre Course Launches at the MAC – Applications Now Open
Starting September 2025, the MAC will host Mountview’s Certificate of Higher Education (CertHE) in Musical Theatre, marking the course’s first expansion beyond England.

With 30 hours of professional training per week, the CertHE is a one-year intensive programme designed to challenge and develop emerging performers. Taught by Mountview staff and based at the MAC, the course nurtures individual creativity, strengthens technical skills, and supports students in preparing for further study or stepping into the industry.
Open to applicants from a wide range of backgrounds, the CertHE offers an artistically supportive environment focused on personal growth and professional development.
Lisa McGinley, Director of the MAC, said:
“Bringing Mountview to Belfast raises the bar for performing arts training in Northern Ireland. We’re proud to help open this pathway for the next generation of performers and thrilled to see our venue become a home for such an exciting and respected programme.”
Sally Ann Gritton, Principal of Mountview, commented:
“I am incredibly excited that we are bringing our world-class professional musical theatre training to Northern Ireland. Opening in Belfast with this full-time Certificate of Higher Education is part of our mission to ensure that our expertise and values are shared nationally and internationally. There is so much incredible talent in Northern Ireland and across the island of Ireland as a whole, we cannot wait to play our part in nurturing these emerging artists. We welcome and encourage everyone to audition!”
Applicants must be 18, or turn 18 within the first term. The course is eligible for student loans and Mountview scholarship support.
