Details
Inspired by I See His Blood Upon The Rose, this four-week poetry workshop series will explore how floral imagery has been used in poetry to convey different meanings over time, whether that be messages of love, friendship, or protest.
Hosted by poet Bebe Ashley, participants in Flowers: Messages of Love and Protest in Poetry will explore a range of poetic forms and write poems that convey their own messages, drawing on floral histories and botanical details.
Each workshop session will include a gallery visit to the exhibition as you search for inspiration for your poems. The final session will culminate in an optional poetry reading in the gallery, where you can read your poems in front of the exciting artworks that have inspired them.
WEEK ONE - 1 February
WEEK TWO - 8 February
WEEK THREE - 15 February
WEEK FOUR- 22 February
Programmed as part of I See His Blood Upon The Rose exhibition - you can also book exhibition tickets here.
