MAC x YAA: An exciting new partnership for children's arts
The MAC and Young At Art, Northern Ireland's leading arts provider for children and young people and home to Belfast Children's Festival, have teamed up to bring you MAC x YAA, a yearlong programme of fantastic arts experiences for you and all the family.
MAC x YAA includes workshops, specially created tours of the incredible sculptures by Ron Mueck in our galleries, performances inspired by the sculptures, life-like life drawing classes….and much more. Plus, fun themed activities for Halloween, Christmas and Belfast Children’s Festival 2023.
The programme includes something for children of all ages and with diverse interests.
Eibhlin deBarra, Director at Young At Art said:
“We’re thrilled to be working with the MAC on this exciting new collaboration that makes the most of what we do best - programming family friendly events and working with brilliant artists to bring them to life.”
Elaine Forde, Creative Learning Manager at the MAC said:
"We love working with Young at Art and we share a common goal: to create opportunities for all children and their families to enjoy art. We're very excited to be working alongside YAA to deliver this brilliant new programme."
The season kicked off celebrating Pride in July with ‘Windsock workshops’, face painting and Dragtime Story Time and will continue into 2023.
In August, we’re celebrating Ron Mueck’s first exhibition ever on the island of Ireland with a gallery tour specifically developed for families. Created and delivered by Young At Art artists, the gallery tours will give families a unique insight into Ron’s extraordinary world, and an opportunity to share the experience together and learn more about the inspiration behind the sculptures.

Please note: this programme will be updated throughout the year as we release more events.
